Your reading is nobody’s business

What the developer collects
Nothing. Colophon has no app account, analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party crash-reporting SDK. The developer does not operate an app backend and does not receive your library, reading activity, identifiers, or diagnostics.
Where your data lives
Everything you save (articles, books, PDFs, highlights, notes, and ink) is stored on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, library records use the app’s private CloudKit database and imported documents use iCloud Drive. Apple operates those services under its own terms and privacy policy; Colophon does not send that data to a developer-operated server.
On-device intelligence
Summaries, key points, tags, and answers about your library are generated by Apple Intelligence on the device itself. Nothing you read is sent to us or to any third-party AI service.
Optional connections you control
Colophon can connect to outside services only when you choose and configure them. Miniflux downloads your feed entries and synchronizes read and starred states with the server you provide. Obsidian export writes the sections you select to a folder you grant access to. Notion export sends the sections you select to Notion’s API and workspace. Secrets such as Miniflux passwords or tokens and Notion tokens are stored in the system Keychain; non-secret connection settings are stored in the app’s preferences. You can disconnect each integration in Colophon’s Settings and revoke its credential at the destination. Data already exported to Obsidian or Notion remains there until you delete it there. When you fetch articles or feeds, your device also connects directly to those websites.
Purchases
Colophon Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by the App Store. Apple tells the app one thing — whether this Apple Account owns Pro — and we never see your name, your payment details, or anything else about you. There is no account to create and no receipt server of ours for your purchase to touch.
Retention and deletion
Local library data remains on your device until you delete it in Colophon or remove the app. With iCloud sync enabled, deleting an item in Colophon also schedules that deletion to sync to your other devices. Removing the app does not necessarily remove copies already held in iCloud or files already exported to another service; those can be removed through your iCloud storage settings or at the destination service. Because the developer does not collect your data and Colophon has no app account, there is no separate developer-held profile to request for deletion.
